Day 15 Guatemala to El Salvador

It took 4 hours to cross the border into El Salvador due to a picket line. A worker's strike had everything shut down. This is a line trucks waiting to cross that is at least a couple miles long.

After the strike dispersed and some officials paid off, we drove a couple more hours to the coast and called it a day.

Day 14: Panajachel and Lake Atitlan, Guetamala

There are 3 very large volcanos on Lake Atitlan, but it was cloudy all day and hard to get a good shot.

Day 13: San Cristobal to Panajachel, Guatemala

Death ride 2010. Watch out when one of these guys comes around the corner at you. Generally on two wheels, in your lane, and passing a 18 wheeler

Day 11: Puerto Escondidto to San Cristobal

San Cristobal had a whole different vibe. Located high in the mountains in southern Mexico, this city was filled with unique architecture, stone covered streets, great food, and travelers from all over the globe.

One of the best meals on the trip, mole enchiladas and tortilla soup with avocados

Day 10: Rest Day in Puerto Escondidto

After 9 days of riding, we decided to take a much needed rest day. We had a great spot on the beach and kicked back. It turned out that the city was celebrating Carnival and had a parade that night. We ended up hopping on one of the floats and taking part in the celebrations. For the most part we were well received, while others just wondered what the crazy gringos were doing as we waved to hundreds of people in the streets.

Day 9 Tecpan to Puerto Escondido

Reaching Puerto Escondito was like a paradise. Great beaches, big sky,  and a nice town. We decided to sleep in the following morning and enjoy not navigating the roads of Mexico for a day.

Day 8: La Ticla to Tecpan

We enjoyed a full day of riding along spectacular coast lines, followed by what would be known as one of the worst cities we stayed in on the whole trip....Tecpan. The only photo any of us had of this town was of one of the hotel rooms where we battled with the roaches for dibs on the bed. We locked the bikes down for the night and split town early the next morning.

Day 7: Puerto Vallarta to La Ticla

Nick said this sign is from some old movie and turned around to get a photo of it.
The farther south we traveled you began to notice different types of cactus and strange fruits.

When it got dark we turned off the road to find a little town called La Ticla. We stayed at a really nice spot right on the beach. La Ticla was the kinda of place you could have stayed for a really long time. Apparently, this was also a little secret surfer spot for those who know.

Day 6: Mazatlan to Puerto Vallarta

We stopped at a little town for lunch while a afternoon rain shower passed us by.

Puerto Vallarta is a tourist town that is a destination for many a spring breaker. Stunning views all the same.

Overnight Ferry from La Paz to Mazatlan

Once we reached the bottom of Baja, we crossed the Sea of Cortez to get us back to main land Mexico. The 12 hour trip had us in Mazatlan by morning. This boat was packed with 18 wheelers, a few cars, and 3 motorcycles.

Worst food on the trip so far. A very poor attempt at chilaquiles.
